2022 Board of Directors Election Results
East Coast Credit Union held its Annual General Meeting on April 19, 2022. A recording of the meeting is available here.
During the business meeting, highlights of 2021 were shared, along with the 2021 Financial Statement, and our Board of Directors election results were released.
We have 12 Board member positions, and this year, four of those positions were up for re-election. Six candidates presented themselves as nominees. We would like to thank all the nominees who submitted their application and expressed interest in serving on our Board of Directors.
Thank you to all our members who participated in our electronic in-branch and online voting process and who joined us at our Annual General Meeting this year.
Congratulations to the four successful candidates who will serve on our Board of Directors:Julie Marchand
Julie as elected as a new director of the Board at our 2022 Annual General Meeting. Julie brings a wealth of knowledge from her past experiences serving on the Board of the Town of Port Hawkesbury, as a business instructor at NSCC, and with twelve years of personal and business banking experience. Julie currently serves as the Financial Manager, Academic Programs at STFX University.
Mary Oxner
Mary was re-elected to the Board of Directors this year and has previously served as Audit Committee Chair. Mary is a Chartered Professional Accountant and is currently a faculty member at STFX University. She brings a community-focused, cooperative approach to serving the membership.
Anne Sears
Anne was re-elected as a director to the Board at this year’s meeting. She is a life-long credit union member who has served on the Board of Directors for over twelve years. She has completed the required director training, as well as optional courses, and considers it an honor and a privilege to represent the membership.
Maurice Smith
Maurice as elected as a new director of the Board at our 2022 Annual General Meeting. Through Maurice’s work with Nova Scotia Legal Aid and L’Arche Antigonish, he was able to showcase his positive, respectful, and sincere attributes, along with public relations and consensus building skills. Maurice also serves on the MAAC for the Sisters of St. Martha and as a Commissioner on the NS Elections Commission.
