Certified Cheques

Designed for owners who require verification of funds when making purchases, payments or sending funds via mail.

A certified cheque is one issued by an East Coast member or non-member, where the funds are guaranteed to the payee by the branch on which the cheque is drawn. When certifying a cheque drawn on an East Coast member the signatures and funds are verified, funds (if available) are withdrawn from the account, and a “certified” stamp is placed on the face of the cheque. If funds not available the cheque cannot be certified. A member or non-member may request that a cheque written on an East Coast account be certified, however, we do not cash cheques (including certified cheques) for non-members of East Coast Credit Union.

  • Cheques cannot be certified on U.S. accounts or on a Canadian account in US funds.

  • Certified Cheque fee applies.

  • We no not cash cheques unless you are a member of East Coast Credit Union.
